Are you starting to hear more about Google Analytics 4 (GA4)? Not sure what that means for your business? Well good news is that we are here to help!

Why the change?

Google has begun to implement GA4 to replace Universal Analytics (UA) that has been the standard practice for almost a decade. While there will be many differences between UA and GA4, the one big difference between the two is that UA uses sessions and page views, whereas GA4 uses a measurement model based on events and parameters. An interaction can be captured as an event and as a result, all UA hit types can translate to events in GA4.

How will this affect my business?

As with anything new, there are going to be lots of questions and confusion. That’s why Sokal has teamed up with Brian Pasch Enterprises (BPE) as a founding member of the Automotive Standards Council for GA4. Brian Pasch is a recognized leader in automotive education and training. BPE has been a resource for dealers for Google’s Universal Analytics for the last 10 years and will be working with industry leaders such as automotive dealers, vendors, and manufacturers to establish  true standards for GA4.

With the days of UA coming to close, it’s important to know that your marketing agency understands the impact that GA4 will have on your business. Sokal is taking a proactive approach and is already starting to move clients from UA to GA4 in order to make sure that no data is lost in the transition and that all processes are worked out well in advance.
