Sokal Webinar: What You Need to Know About Cookies in 2024

Written by Annika Bardaxis | Jun 26, 2024 7:52:42 PM

Join Creative Strategist, Annika Bardaxis (hey that's me!) for the second Sokal Webinar discussing Google's new cookie updates with  Michaela Mundorf, Director of Digital Advertising and Strategy. Michaela is a cookie expert (no pun intended!) and has been researching different ways to adapt to Google’s updates to their use of third-party cookies.

The webinar goes back to basics, to learn what cookies are and how they influence everyone's ad experience across the internet. Cookies are officially being depreciated and have already been removed on Firefox and Safari, but are slowly being removed from Chrome.

Michaela discusses the main reason for the depreciation of cookies on websites across different platforms is user privacy. This gives users better authority over who gets access to their information. The removal of cookies will affect every avenue of advertising; mainly audience creation, ad personalization, retargeting, and conversion tracking.

Cookies are how we get the information on what people are interested in our clients’ products and then serve them ads that show them the products they’re most interested in. Michaela briefly discusses plans to tackle the removal of cookies and what Sokal is doing to test better avenues without the use of third-party cookies.

To learn more about cookies and what updates will look like for digital advertising going forward be sure to watch our webinar!
