Founded in May of 1944, Kia is the oldest manufacturer of motor vehicles located in South Korea. Initially, the company specialized in manufacturing steel tubing and bicycle parts. In 1952, the company rebranded to Kia Industries and began producing Korea's first domestic bicycle, signaling the start of its ambitious journey.

The 1970s marked Kia's entry into the automotive industry. This significant step laid the foundation for Kia's future in the automotive world. Over the next few years, Kia expanded its product lineup, producing trucks and cars for the domestic market. By the 2010s, Kia had firmly established itself as a global automotive brand. The introduction of models like the Kia Soul, Optima, and Sportage showcased Kia's commitment to innovative design and reliable performance. Kia is now part of the dynamic global Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group and has grown to become the world’s fifth-largest vehicle manufacturer.

Today, Kia produces over 1.4 million vehicles annually across 14 manufacturing and assembly operations in eight countries. These vehicles are sold and serviced through a network of more than 3,000 distributors and dealers in 172 countries. The company employs over 40,000 people and has annual revenues exceeding $17 billion.

As a pioneer in the automotive industry, Kia has celebrated 80 years of movement that inspires. Sokal proudly wishes a happy anniversary to Kia manufacturers and dealers across the globe!
